Boys at RH6

Our Sixth Form is co-educational with both girls and boys welcome to join.  The number of boys in RH6 is growing year on year.

Morgan Jeffs: "I attended RH6 in 2022-2024 and Rugby high school has had a lasting positive impact on me. In particular, the guidance of the Senior Leadership Team still resonates with me today. I can remember numerous conversations with the SLT about their career paths and also discussing the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion which has led me to rethink DEI frameworks and engage with wider discussions through annual university conferences. Currently, I am studying History and theology at the University of Birmingham with ambitions to go into school leadership."

Louis:  I am studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Biology.

After RH6: I’m hoping to study maths at uni, preferably UCL

"Joining RH6 was a last minute decision for me.  I thought, why not give it a go?"

Suchit:  I'm taking Maths, Biology and Chemistry A Levels plus EPQ

After RH6: to study Medicine at University with a view to going into cardiology.

"The ethos here of a work/social balance is important."

Jovan: My A Levels are: Maths, History and Psychology

After RH6: Not too sure which particular sector but probably Law or Psychology at University

"The work is challenging at times but engaging."

Harry:   I am studying Geography, Biology and Psychology.

After RH6: either go into the fire service, ambulance service (paramedics) or police force

"It was easier than I expected to get to know people."

"We can do all sorts of sports for enrichment: Basketball, Badminton, Tennis, Football, Rounders, Cricket.  It is up to us to decide."

First Boys' Competitive Football Match

November 2022, saw a historic event for Rugby High School - our first ever Sixth Form boys competitive football match against Rugby Free Secondary School.

The boys played with passion and confidence and represented our school exceedingly well. The school's community spirit was clearly evident too as, when setting up the match, a huge number of year 10 and 11 girls came to help with the flags and hurdle barrier setup. In addition to this, the audience gathered to watch the match was impressive. The team decided that the man of the match went to Matende for his consistency and perseverance throughout the game.

And a special thanks to Morgan for being the runner each time the ball went flying off and, of course, for being the paparazzi. The score was 3-3 when it reached full time and they decided to go to penalties. We narrowly lost the penalties unfortunately, but it was truly a historic moment to be proud of!

Boys continue to play football at Rugby High School and currently train on Tuesday lunchtimes. Hopefully there will be more sixth form boys' football success this year!
