Application Process
Details of how to apply to RH6 will be added to this web page shortly. Applications will open on the day of Open Evening, Thursday 5th November 2026.
Applications will close on Friday, 18th December 2026.
Applicants' visit to RH6
All students who apply to join RH6, will be invited to visit RH6 in early 2027, to discover more about sixth form and studying A Levels at Rugby High School.
Orientation Day
Students who apply to RH6 and all our current Year 11s will be invited to come to our RH6 Orientation Day, which will most likely be held in July 2027. We will be sharing more of what RH6 life is like.
The day will enable students to enjoy some A Level taster lessons, meet some of their teachers and gain insight into Sixth Form life. Our Orientation Day gives you the opportunity to meet other students, and find out some more about what to expect when you join our Sixth Form for your A Level journey.
Entry Requirements
Rugby High School has a co-educational sixth form and therefore welcomes applications from both female and female applicants. Entry into Year 12 is on the basis of academic ability demonstrated by achievement at GCSE (or equivalent, see ‘Applicants holding qualifications other than GCSEs’ section in our Admissions Policy). Confirmed places in Year 12 can therefore only be allocated following GCSE results day in August 2027.
The entry requirement for the Sixth Form is 4 grade sixes and 2 grade 5s in full-course GCSEs (or their equivalents) taken from the list of subjects published in the Sixth Form Prospectus.
There are specific GCSE requirements for individual subjects. The minimum GCSE grades required for entry for each subject are shown below:

Curriculum blocks for A Levels for 2026
We expect that the majority of students will choose to take three A levels. If you plan to do this, you should choose one subject from three of the four blocks. If you wish to take Further Mathematics you need to choose Further Mathematics, Mathematics and two more subjects.
