Year 10 Parents' Information Evening 

The Year 10 Information Evening will be held on Wednesday 16th September 2026, 5.00 - 6.00pm, at school.

We would like to invite Year 10 parents / carers to a Parents Information Evening on Wednesday 16th September 2026, 6pm - 7pm. We will be sharing key insights into Year 10. 

Students are welcome to join you for this evening, if they wish, and we look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.

Grading at GCSE and next steps: 

• GCSE’s graded from 1 to 9 where a 4/5 is equivalent to the old C grade (pass)
• Most students can achieve 7/8/9s at RHS at the end of Year 11
• The entry criteria for the Sixth Form currently is 6 grade 6’s for 3 A levels
• If a student achieves 6’s in Maths, English and Science then all A level courses are open to them

How to be effective at GCSEs: 

• Develop effective revision skills
• Have an end goal
• Talk to Mr Marley/arrange a careers appointment
• Be curious, interested and enthusiastic about your studies
• Fully participate in the lessons
• Keep up extra-curricular activities and friendships
• Regular attendance
