Curriculum Leader of Food Preparation and Nutrition

We are currently looking to appoint a Curriculum Leader of Food Preparation and Nutrition to take responsibility for this small, but highly successful department. The prospective candidate should seek to embody the values and ethos of the school through the delivery of engaging and challenging lessons across KS3 and 4.
This is a part-time (0.4-0.5) position with a TLR 2a attached.
They must be committed to obtaining the best possible outcomes for all students by creating a fully-inclusive environment. Candidates will show a willingness and desire to contribute to the extensive co-curricular activities we offer our community and contribute to our whole school ethos of kindness, care and respect. If you feel you have the commitment and, enthusiasm and drive to join our very successful department, then this could be the right job for you.

- have a good degree in Food or a related subject
- are passionate about your subject
- have the ability to teach technical food preparation and cooking skills, alongside a thorough understanding of the science behind the functional and chemical properties of ingredients and processes

- can ensure the progress of highly motivated, high-achieving cohorts
- can lead the strategic direction of a department in line with the school’s ethos and values

Midday Supervisor Assistant
Hours: 6.25 hours per week TTO plus 1 week (39 weeks)
Salary: NJC Scale B3, £24,520 FTE (pro rata actual £3590), pay award pending
Responsible to: Chef Manager
Start date: October 2026, or as soon as possible
We are seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team to supervise children during the lunchtime period. Work is undertaken under the guidance of the cook/catering manager.
The post will be 6.25 hours per week (1.25 hours per day Monday to Friday) with the hours being worked between 12.50pm and 2.05pm during term time only.
Note: This is a broad description of the types of duties/activities expected at this level, for illustrative purposes. This is not intended to provide an exhaustive list of duties.
Main responsibilities:
- Supervise students while queuing for food
- Supervise students when clearing plates
- Clean dining area and all dining tables
- Supervise and monitor all areas of school during lunch period
General:
- Be able to work as part of a dedicated and supportive team, with good interpersonal skills to relate to colleagues, students and parents.
- Can exchange straightforward information with colleagues and users
- Display commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people
- Value and respect the views and needs of child
