Bus Transport Arrangements
Rugby High School is served by a number of buses arranged by Warwickshire County Council. Further information can be found on their website which can be accessed by clicking on this link.
The school arranges a bus to travel from Daventry and the surrounding area in conjunction with Lawrence Sheriff School. We also now have a pick up point at Houlton. Places are limited.

Stagecoach taking over operation of bus routes 25 and 85/85H/85S
Below is a message we have received from Warwickshire County Council regarding school bus route changes:
The current contracts, operated by National Express, for the subsidised Bus Services 25 (Coventry-Bubbenhall-Ryton-Stretton-Birdingbury-Bourton-Rugby) and 85/85H/85S (Coventry-UHCW-Brinklow-Pailton-Rugby) expire at the end of this year. Following competitive tender, the new contract has been won by Stagecoach, who will be taking over operation of these routes from 2nd January 2026.
Save for a few minutes, the routes and timetables are unchanged. The 85 school bus (serving Clifton Road and Ashlawn School) is renumbered 85K to differentiate it from the (different) standard 85 route.

With the changeover of bus operator, it will be necessary for tickets to be purchased from Stagecoach rather than National Express for the start of the new term :
Best value ticket:
‘Young Person’ ticket (aged 5-18 years)
Rugby & Daventry 7 day megarider : £18.90 per week (7 days)
Rugby & Daventry 14 day megarider: £75.60 per four weeks (28 days)
Single tickets: £3 each way.
Those scholars entitled to a bus pass through Warwickshire County Council will continue to use their existing pass, or they will be re-issued as necessary.
Student and under 5-18 term/annual tickets issued by National Express Coventry will not be valid on Stagecoach buses from the start of the January term. For any such tickets purchased in the September – December term for travel within 2026, customers should please contact National Express Coventry for a refund of the unexpired portion.
Any other (non-Student/5-18 term tickets) pre-purchased tickets from National Express Coventry for a validity period of up to four weeks will be accepted by Stagecoach on these services either up to their expiry date or 31st January at the latest (whichever is sooner). Pre-purchased tickets valid for longer than 4 weeks, customers should please contact National Express Coventry for a refund of the unexpired portion beyond 31st January 2026.
