Lauren is the inspiration behind the recent name change of our H house, which has been named Henry house in her honour.

Lauren made history in August this year, powering through to win the women’s single sculls title, becoming the first British woman ever to claim World Championships gold in the event.

After a Henry House photoshoot, Lauren gave 3 special assemblies to all years. We shared clips of the powerful finish to her recent World Championship rowing race, where she won Gold, and of the nail-biting finish to the Olympic quadruple sculls race where she won Olympic Gold with her 3 crewmates, in Paris in 2024.

Lauren was then quizzed by staff and students about her recent success and the change from racing in a quad to single sculls, where she feels comfortable and confident. She discussed her intensive training regime, her time at RHS and even how to keep her boat going straight and not wonky! Lauren talked about the importance of resilience, trusting that she is good enough and how she tackles pre-race nerves.
