Cover Co-ordinator
NJC Scale 7-11
£25,584 - £27,269 FTE (Actual £19,680 - £20,976)
37 hours per week TTO plus 2 weeks (40 weeks) 7.45am-3.45pm

We are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity to join our fantastic school as the new Cover
Co-ordinator.
Being organised, professional, competent, retaining high levels of confidentiality, having a good eye for detail, excellent communication skills and being able to build and maintain effective working relationships are important qualities for this position. We are looking to appoint somebody who has ideally worked in a Secondary school.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate they can understand and operate within school policies and procedures, under the instructions of the Office Manager/Business Manager.
The individual needs to display commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people and also value and respect the views and needs of children.
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as the point of contact for all teachers requiring cover
- Make appropriate cover arrangements for staff who are absent
- Liaise with staff over the quality and quantity of the cover work that is set
- Schedule room changes as required
- Take classes in the absence of a teacher for either unplanned or planned absence
- Be up-to-date with the needs of the students with Pupil Passports to enable them to access learning effectively and for you to be able share with cover staff
- Describe and explain learning activities, answering queries, giving direction and assisting with differentiated tasks and materials, encouraging students to improve the quality of their work when covering lessons yourself
- Cover tutor time for either unplanned or planned teacher absence and deliver tutor time activities that have been planned and prepared by teachers.
- Disseminating best practise to all cover staff, including safeguarding information, register instructions and fire drill procedures
- Dealing with immediate problems and emergencies in accordance with the school’s policies in a calm and professional manner.
- Reporting back on behaviour of pupils during the class and any issues arising, adding house points where required.
- Supporting the general administration and/or Front of House teams when not actively covering pupils’ lessons.
- Provide First Aid support as required by the school. (Training will be provided)

Art & Textiles Technician
NJC Payscale 3-4
£24,027 - £24,404 FTE pay award pending (Actual £16 933 - £17 199)
30 hours per week TTO plus 1 week (39 weeks) to be worked across 5 days
Start Date: 1st September 2025 (or as soon as possible after)
We are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity to join our fantastic school as an Art & Textiles Technician. We are looking to appoint somebody with previous Art Technician skills who has ideally worked in a secondary school. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in Art and/or Textiles with a strong creative background.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times.
- Provide support and assistance to the classroom teacher during practical lessons.
- Work on your own initiative as well as a member of a team.
- Plan and prioritise your work effectively.
- Assist in the organisation and presentation of the Art and Textiles Rooms. The department is spilt on 2 floors so some manual handling will be required.
- To attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.
- Assist with the supervision of pupils out of lesson times, eg clubs, visits and extra-curricular activities organised by the department.
- On occasion, may be required to act as cover supervisor.

Cover Supervisor
£13.74 per hour
Responsible to: Cover Manager/Business Manager
Start Date 1st June 2025 (or as soon as possible after)

- Supervising a whole class to undertake set work/activities and can include introducing and closing the class.
- Maintaining good order and managing behaviour constructively.
- Promotion of self-control and independence.
- Keep pupils on task as necessary.
- Responding appropriately to questions raised by pupils.
- Collecting any completed work and returning it to the appropriate teacher.
- Dealing with immediate problems and emergencies in accordance with the school’s policies.
- Reporting back on behaviour of pupils during the class and any issues arising.
- Supporting the general administration and/or Front of House teams when not actively covering pupils’ lessons.
Qualifications, training and likely abilities
- No formal qualifications required, though literacy and numeracy skills required to be able to read instructions and work out simple measurements.
- We are looking to appoint somebody who has ideally worked in a Secondary school.
- Can understand and operate within regulations
- Can exchange straightforward information with colleagues and users
- Display commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people
- Value and respect the views and needs of children

Cleaner
Zero hours casual contract. TTO plus 5 week (39 weeks). NJC Scale 2. £12.26 per hour.
Responsible to: Site Manager
To clean specified areas within the school in accordance with the school’s/authority’s standards. Your work will be undertaken under the guidance of the caretaker / cleaning supervisor. You will also contribute to the school’s statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
