Great News on Last Year's Results!

Rugby High School is the only school in Rugby to be considered “Well Above Average”

Provisional school KS4 progress data has just been published. Rugby High School is the only school in Rugby to be considered “Well Above Average” with a Progress 8 score of 0.7. Only 14% of schools in England are considered “Well Above Average”, the highest you can get! We are really proud of our students and staff and thank all those that support us along the way. Progress 8 is a score that is calculated by taking students' Key Stage 2 SATs results and looking at their GCSE results to see the progress that they have made. Students nationally are grouped into ability bands by the government so that the progress of students in a particular school can be judged relative to that of students of a similar ability nationally. This measure is called Progress 8 because is looks at 8 subjects: English, Mathematics, 3 from Computer Science, Combined Science, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, History, Geography or a language and then any three other GCSEs not previously used in the calculation. English is double weighted, provided the student has taken English Literature, as is Maths because of the importance of these subjects.
