Super Physics Day Winners

Rugby High hosts inter-school Physics Competition

.Heather Dargie, Maddie Fletcher,  Akshya Subramanian and Elise Scotney who won the Super Physics prize of the day for their investigation on density and displacement and for presenting their findings and the story of Archimedes in a scientific and engaging way.

12 schools from across the West Midlands brought teams of Year 9 students to take part in a day of science challenges and investigations run by the Institute of Physics at Rugby High School.    The teams of 4 conducted 3 timed investigations using their knowledge of science.  Investigatons included “Air Drop”, a RAF challenge to drop relief packages from a plane to the desired location.   In addition, teams  conducted six experiments that focussed on analysing results and explaining observations. The young scientists also listened to a talk on the relationship between quantum physics and cryptography (code solving).
