News from Rugby High School for Year 6 Students and Parents February 2021

Introduction from the HeadTeacher

Hello!

I am so pleased to be able to have an opportunity to say hello from Rugby High School!

I am sure that home-schooling means that you are doing a lot of work online, so I won’t take too much time here.  We just wanted to let you know a bit about how our students are making the most of their time, and how we are all looking forward to welcoming another new year group to our community in the coming months.

I know you won’t have had the chance to physically get around our school, but we hope that when it’s safe you will be able to come and get a feel of the care, the kindness and respect that we all have for each other.  It’s been this care and kindness that has kept us all going in the past few weeks, and our high standards, setting heights in our heart to do our best every day.

It’s not always been easy, but we have kept positive, we have kept in touch with each other and we have continued to take great joy and curiosity in our learning.

I write to all students every single day, making sure we stay in touch, and it’s been lovely to hear from students who are continuing to represent the very best of Rugby High School.

We can’t wait to be introduced in person to you all, but for now, stay well and stay safe, and I hope the following articles from our students continue to keep you excited about joining the RHS community.

With very best wishes,
Mr Grady
Head Teacher

Photos Around School by Year 7 Students

We ran a whole school winter photography competition.  The entry categories were: Colour, Contrast and Community.  Here are a few of the entries from our Year 7 students – these ones have all been taken round the school.

A Message from our Deputy HeadTeacher

While we all work and learn remotely, I am sure that I speak for us all when I say that we are very much looking forward to getting back into school.  Here at remote RHS we are doing our very best to deliver the exciting and varied RHS curriculum to our students. Despite lockdown, students continue  to enjoy Art, Drama, Music, Food and PE alongside their Maths and English, Science, French or Spanish, Latin, History, Geography, PRS and PSHE.   We have all had to adapt the way we teach and are finding creative ways to make the most of our online learning opportunities.  We are all developing our own routines when studying at home but we are all benefitting from interacting online in our lessons; teachers and students alike.  However, to say that we miss face to face RHS is a huge understatement, our community is strong and nothing beats being at school with our friends and colleagues alongside us.  Each year, we look forward to welcoming our new Year 7s into the RHS community, and this year we do so more than ever, we can’t wait to meet you!

Wishing you all the very best for Year 6.
