Having fun with Codes4drones

Students in Years 7, 8 and 9  recently enjoyed a session learning and writing code for their drones and executing it to great success.

Code4Drones visited the school with a number of drones for the students  to code specific flight patterns. Some involved having to navigate an obstacle course, ascending/descending as well as flips. The students seemed to enjoy and relish the opportunity to see the real life experience of how code can be applied.  I survived a couple of close-calls and we had a few that left our radar landing in hard-to-reach places. We had more than enough demand and given the success of the project we would be keen to offer it on an annual basis.  I would also like to thank the PTA for part funding this event, helping to make  it accessible to all those who wanted to take part.  Mr Sexton, Computing Teacher
